New Delhi: Instagram has started rolling out its latest feature that lets users reorder the photos and videos in a carousel even after the post has been published. This latest upgrade was shared through Instagram’s creator page, confirming that the users no longer need to delete and repost the content to fix the order. Once the carousel was posted, its sequence was locked.

If the photo or video has appeared in the wrong place, the only option is to delete the entire post and upload it again correctly. Instagram has stated this was not only inconvenient, but it also meant losing the engagement, such as likes and comments.

The users can reorder photos and videos in their carousel posts after publishing them. With the simple long-press and drag, users no longer need to delete and re-upload their content.

This feature is especially designed to work, and what the users can expect from it. This latest upgrade is aimed at offering users more control over their posts. It stated that the users can change the order of carousel content at any time, by enabling them to better align posts with their intended layout or storytelling.

The reordering carousel will not affect engagement. Likes and comments remain intact, so the users will not lose traction on their posts while making changes. While the users can reorder or remove the existing items in the carousel, they still cannot add the latest media after publishing.

This feature is now gradually rolling out; if users do not see it yet, it should become available in the coming days. The user reactions to the feature appear to be largely positive, with many calling it a long-overdue upgrade and stating it solves the common frustration of having to delete and repost carousels to fix the order.

There are also requests for more flexibility. Some of the users stated that Instagram should enable editing other elements, like music or making broader post changes, after publishing.
