iOS 26.4 Developer Beta 2 now available for testing

New Delhi: Apple has officially started rolling out its latest iOS 24.2 developer beta 2 upgrade for the eligible iPhones, bringing a mix of the latest features and minor interface changes. This latest upgrade extends the RCS encryption testing and adds the latest accessibility controls.

Developer Beta 2 of iOS 26.4 also comes with the latest design changes to the native applications, like App Store and Games. It comes with End-to-End Encryption, and it becomes available for testing between Apple and Android devices. This latest feature is not shipping in the current release, and it will be available to customers in the future iOS upgrade.

Apple has also unveiled the latest accessibility option, in the Settings application under Accessibility > Display & Text Size, there is now a toggle called Reduce Highlighting Effects. This option is designed to reduce some of the visual effects around the edges of buttons and sliders, which might help users who prefer a simpler interface.

Apple has also been reported to include minor tweaks in iOS 26.4 beta 2. Dark Mode, menu popups in the Control Center and it now appear with a dark background that several users love. There are also several changes to the Account Hub interface in the Apple App Store. Apple has also moved the Search bar back to the top of the Search tab in the App Store and integrated the Search tab into the bottom bar.

iOS 26.4 beta 2, the similar Search bar and tab layout changes have now applied to the Games applications.

Apple Account label in the App Store and Apple Music Account Hub is now left-aligned with the rainbow logo, matching Settings. Playlist Playground in Apple Music enables users to type an idea, mood, or theme and receive automatic song suggestions for the curated playlists. This feature can also generate a 25-song playlist with a custom title.

This feature also remains limited to the US and is not yet available in Europe or other regions.
