New Delhi: The iQOO 16 is unlikely to roll out in India, reports suggest. The smartphone’s release in India is also seen as uncertain in view of its launch date, but now, in the wake of the steep memory chip price hike, the release date too is approaching a risky stage. It should be noted, however, that nothing has been officially announced by iQOO as of yet.

Tipster Yogesh Brar thinks the rising price of memory components may lead to a much higher-priced iQOO 16. The flagship should be over the Rs 85,000 price tag, in case it is introduced in India. In this case, it will prove tough for iQOO to maintain its approach of pricing flagship-level specs at a lower price than those of its competitors. The older iQOO 15 received a warm response due to its top-notch hardware for a good price. It was introduced at Rs 72,990 and is even available at lower rates after discounts. Should the price of the iQOO 16 surpass Rs 85,000, it will directly compete with Apple and Samsung’s high-end cell phones and will be an agonizing alternative for purchasers.

Additionally, it is reportedly that the iQOO may decrease the number of devices it will introduce in India this year. Other than that, iQOO 16 may be canceled; the company is also said to be working out plans for just one more budget Z-series smartphone, but a few more that have been envisioned may have been jettisoned. The claims here also come from leaks and have not yet been validated by the company.

This is the main reason for the leading decision in this report, which is rising memory chip prices for smartphones. Memory market pressures stemming from strong demand for AI-related products and supply-related difficulties. This has led to higher production costs for manufacturers of smartphones, particularly for flagship smartphones with high memory and storage options.

Although its release in the Indian market is undecided, the iQOO 16 has continued to be in the developmental process. According to previous dribblings, the smartphone would be available first in China and come equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor and premium features. Additional information about the device should be surfacing soon. Indian buyers will have to wait for an official statement from iQOO for now. For the meantime, it should be assumed that this was just a rumour, not a decision, as the official line on the matter as of yet.
