The Iran conflict entered its fourth day as hostilities intensified across Tehran and the wider Gulf region. Israeli airstrikes targeted what the military described as regime infrastructure and leadership compounds, while Gulf states reported intercepting hundreds of Iranian missiles and drones. US President Donald Trump posted a sharp message seemingly directed at Iranian leadership, writing, “Their air defense, Air Force, Navy, and Leadership is gone," along with a link to an opinion piece on the so-called “Trump Doctrine."

He added, “They want to talk. I said ‘Too Late!’"

While approximately 787 people, including top leaders and school children, have been killed in Iran so far, the United States and Israel too have suffered casualties. Six US soldiers have been killed in Iranian strikes so far. Nine people were killed in Israel’s Beit Shemesh after an Iranian missile struck a residential area.

Israeli Strikes On Tehran

The Israeli military confirmed that its air force struck Iran’s presidential office, the Supreme National Security Council, a military training institution and other key regime facilities in Tehran. Some of the targeted sites were linked to senior Iranian figures, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in strikes over the weekend. Additional raids in Tehran were also reported, with the Israeli military saying they targeted a senior regime commander.

Missile And Drone Activity In The Gulf

The US embassy in Saudi Arabia issued warnings of imminent missile and drone attacks over Dhahran, home to a US consulate and key oil infrastructure, urging American citizens to shelter in place and review security plans. The United Arab Emirates reported intercepting dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones launched from Iran, with several explosions causing casualties and damage to civilian facilities. Bahrain’s military also said it had intercepted multiple missiles and drones, with some strikes hitting a US naval base.

Global Market Reactions

The escalation has sent shockwaves through global markets. Oil prices surged to multi-month highs as traders reacted to potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a major energy transit route. European and Asian stock markets fell sharply, while the US dollar strengthened as investors moved to safe-haven assets.
