Helmed by director Venky Atluri, the film has recently made news after the director spoke about the sequel to the film.According to a report by 123Telugu, the filmmaker in an interview revealed that he is actively working on the script for the sequel to 'Lucky Baskhar'. He also took the opportunity to clarify that, unlike 'Lucky Baskhar', his earlier hit 'Sir', starring Dhanush, will not be getting a sequel.Interestingly, Venky Atluri is currently busy shooting his next project, 'Suriya 46', with Kollywood superstar Suriya, but he has made it clear that the 'Lucky Baskhar' sequel is a definite priority once his current commitments are wrapped up.Released last year, 'Lucky Baskhar' featured Dulquer Salmaan in the titular role and won acclaim for its gripping storyline, the cast's performance and engaging screenplay. The film was a period financial thriller that revolved around Baskhar, a lower-middle-class bank cashier. Dulquer's character finds himself entangled in the risky world of financial scams as he struggles to support his family amidst mounting debts and humiliation during the late '80s and early '90s in Bombay.

Meenakshi Chaudhary played the female lead, while the supporting cast included talents like Ravi Prakash, Ajay Ghosh, and Rajendra Prasad.The film's music was composed by GV Prakash Kumar.Dulquer will be seen in 'Aakasam Lo Oka Tara', directed by Pavan Sadineni. The film's poster reveals a rustic, rural backdrop with Dulquer donning traditional attire, and it will release in multiple languages including Malayalam and Hindi.
