Fortnite is currently undergoing scheduled server maintenance for the Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown update. The servers went down at 2:00 AM ET, and the maintenance is expected to last until 7:00 AM ET.

During the downtime, you will not be able to access Battle Royale, Zero Build, Creative Mode, or LEGO Fortnite across any platform. This extended maintenance period is necessary for Epic Games to implement the massive v40.00 patch, featuring all the new content central to Season 2's launch. Once the maintenance ends, you will be able to hop back into the battle royale experience and try out all the new features integrated as part of the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 update.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 update maintenance schedule

The server downtime for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 update commenced at 2:00 AM ET / 11:00 PM PT, and it will end at approximately 7:00 AM ET / 4:00 AM PT, March 19, 2026. As already stated, you will not be able to access the game during the downtime, and you will have to wait for the servers to be back online. Listed below are the maintenance timings for the Fortnite v40.00 update: North America:

  • Pacific Time (PT): 11:00 PM - 4:00 AM
  • Mountain Time (MT): 12:00 AM - 5:00 AM
  • Central Time (CT): 1:00 AM - 6:00 AM
  • Eastern Time (ET): 2:00 AM - 7:00 AM

Europe:

  • Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Central European Time (CET): 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Eastern European Time (EET): 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Asia:

  • India Standard Time (IST): 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Japan Standard Time (JST): 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Singapore Standard Time (SGT): 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Oceania:

  • Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT): 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • New Zealand Daylight Time (NZDT): 8:00 PM - 1:00 AM (March 20)

The maintenance is expected to conclude at the aforementioned timings, and you will then be able to play the game.
