The Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry when they play the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 7 at Paycom Center. Curry has been ruled out with right patellofemoral pain syndrome in his knee. The injury has kept the 37-year-old out for more than a month. Golden State is currently eighth in the Western Conference and trying to stay in the playoff race while dealing with several injuries.
How Stephen Curry’s knee injury developed
Stephen Curry first aggravated his knee during a January 26 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He returned briefly and played against the Detroit Pistons on January 30, but the issue did not improve and he was shut down again.
An MRI later confirmed patellofemoral pain syndrome, often described as runner’s knee, along with bone bruising. The injury forced Curry out indefinitely.
He was re-evaluated on March 1. The team said the knee had improved but did not set a date for his return. Curry has missed at least 10 games. Head coach Steve Kerr has said the team does not want to rush him back and is focused on having him healthy for the playoffs.
