Stephen Curry will not play when the Golden State Warriors face the Washington Wizards on March 16, 2026. The guard is still recovering from a right knee injury and remains unavailable for the game.Curry has now missed 17 straight games since the end of January. His absence has come during a difficult stretch for Golden State, which enters the matchup on a five-game losing streak while trying to stay in the Western Conference play-in race.
Knee injury suffered in January still keeping Stephen Curry out
Stephen Curry’s injury happened during a January 30 game against the Detroit Pistons. He was diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome, often called runner’s knee, along with bone bruising.
Several MRI scans confirmed there was no structural damage.
The 38-year-old has started more intense individual workouts, but he has not returned to full team practice. Curry has continued to travel with the team and stay around the group, though he has not been cleared to play.The Warriors plan to evaluate him again around March 23. That means he will miss the road game against Washington at Capital One Arena.

The roster is short because several players are unavailable.
