Authorities in India have apprehended five alleged terrorists during raids across multiple states in a coordinated effort. The individuals are linked to an ISIS-inspired group planning significant attacks.

The Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies are carrying out a joint operation across multiple states, with raids continuing in Delhi, Mumbai, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Hyderabad.
So far, five terrorists have been arrested in the operation. Two terrorists, identified as Aftab and Sufiyan, both residents of Mumbai, were arrested from Delhi. The Special Cell also raided their hideouts in Mumbai and recovered weapons and IED-making material.
In a parallel operation, Ashar Danish was arrested from Ranchi. Chemical IED-making material was recovered from his hideout.
According to officials, this ISIS-inspired module was engaged in plotting a major terrorist attack. Many of the arrested accused are experts in making chemical bombs.
Initially, three terrorists were arrested on Wednesday, including two from Delhi. Based on evidence recovered, police later arrested two more suspects in a late-night operation, raising the total number of arrests to five.
The update on arrests so far confirms two from Delhi, one from Ranchi, one from Madhya Pradesh and one from Hyderabad. The number of suspected terrorists arrested across the ongoing raids in five states now stands at five.
Raids are continuing in Delhi, Mumbai, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Hyderabad.
A press conference by Delhi Police Special Cell today is expected where further details of the joint operation will be revealed.
