The ‘beautiful game’ turned violent for one last night in Jamshedpur.

After Mohun Bagan’s 1-1 away draw against Jamshedpur FC in the ISL, a Mariners (MBSG) fan was allegedly attacked by locals outside the stadium.

Again and again, the same incidents keep repeating. When will Jamshedpur ever become truly sporting? In the steel city, a supporter named Rajib Roy was attacked once again. Fan Attacked After the Match

According to a report from Bangla outlet Sangbad Pratidin, the injured supporter has been identified as Rajiv Roy, a 28-year-old from Howrah.

The incident occurred after the match near the JRD Tata Sports Complex. And according to eyewitnesses, Rajiv and his friend were leaving the venue when a group of 8–10 individuals allegedly ambushed them.

“We came to watch the away match for the first time. After the match, 8-10 people attacked us outside the stadium. They abused us with foul language. A brick came from behind and hit us on the head. Then this situation happened," Rajiv told Sambad Pratidin.

He reportedly suffered a serious head injury — upon which he was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where scans were conducted after receiving 10 stitches.

Chaos Caught on Camera

Videos and pictures circulating on social media show Rajiv walking towards the hospital, bleeding heavily from near his ear.

It is believed that club officials, including secretary Srinjoy Bose and president Debashis Dutta, reached out to check on his condition, while executive member Anupam Sahu visited the spot.

A Disturbing Pattern

Worryingly, a similar episode occurred during the 2024-25 ISL season, when another Mohun Bagan supporter, Ripon Mondal, was severely injured in Jamshedpur.

The recurring violence raises serious questions about fan safety, especially for away supporters.
