Faction-driven politics of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy continue to haunt Palnadu region, alleged Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar. His remark comes in the wake of the recent murder of the YSRCP activist Manda Salman at Pinnelli village of Gurazala Assembly constituency in Palnadu district.
The Energy Minister, along with Minister for Social Welfare Dr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, and MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, laid foundation stone for the Electricity Department divisional office to be constructed at a cost of ₹4.19 crore at Darsi in Prakasam district on Saturday (January 17, 2026). Later, he addressed the gathering in a public meeting.
On the occasion, Mr. Ravi Kumar said, “The YSRCP leaders are behaving as if they have the patent rights of murder politics in the State. During its five-year rule, they (YSRCP) have completely devastated the Palnadu region. Now, when the State is moving forward on the path of development, they are unable to tolerate the progress.”
Mr. Ravi Kumar said that few political parties were formed only to protect their assets. He further said that murder politics is not the policy of the coalition government, unlike the politics followed by the YSRCP, and asserted that no one who commits a crime will be spared, as the law will take its own course.
Later, the Ministers performed bhoomi puja for a 33/11 KV power substation to be built at a cost of ₹3.90 crore in Ullagallu village in Mundlamuru mandal of the district. They also unveiled the statue of TDP founder late N.T. Rama Rao in Ullagallu and inaugurated a newly constructed bus shelter at Pasupugallu village.
The Energy Minister revealed that industrialists have come forward to set up a green energy plant with an investment of ₹13,000 crore in Kakinada, because of their trust in Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
“Mr. Chandrababu Naidu has not only linked the Godavari and Krishna rivers but also completed 84 per cent of the Polavaram project. For the completion of Amaravati capital and to secure a better future for coming generations, he must remain in power,” he said, urging the TDP leaders and cadre to set aside differences and work collectively to strengthen the party.
