Former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar has applied for a pension as a former member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, officials said on Saturday. The Rajasthan Assembly secretariat has said that his application has been accepted, and the pension will start soon.

Dhankhar represented Rajathan’s Kishangarh Assembly constituency as a Congress MLA from 1993 to 1998.

He received a legislator’s pension until July 2019, when the benefits stopped after his appointment as governor of West Bengal.

Following his resignation as vice-president on July 21, Dhankhar has now approached the Rajasthan Assembly secretariat for the restoration of his pension.
