‘Jagjivan Ram’s service to nation remains unparallelled’

The 119th birth anniversary of the former Deputy Prime Minister and pioneer of the Green Revolution Babu Jagjivan Ram was celebrated in Yadgir and Raichur districts on Sunday.

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur praised the great leader of the country and said that his service to the nation with public concern remains unparalleled.

He was a great parliamentarian and social reformer who fought for social justice for the downtrodden communities throughout his political career, he said.

Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar said that the country’s growth and changes, especially in the agriculture sector that he had brought, are remarkable.

Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia, Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar and others were present.

In a similar programme in Raichur, the pioneer of the Green Revolution of modern India was highly appreciated for his contribution.

Member of Parliament G. Kumar Naik, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K., Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Eshwar Kumar Kandoo, Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri and others were present.

A portrait of Babu Jagjivan Ram was brought in a grand procession from the Railway Station to Pandit Siddaram Jambaladinni Rangamandir.

In both the districts, floral tributes were paid to Babu Jagjivan Ram.
