Jaipur sets July 31 deadline for coaching institutes’ safety, exit policy compliance

Jaipur: The Jaipur district administration Thursday directed all coaching institutes to submit certified “easy exit” policies, fire safety compliance reports and details of student welfare measures by July 31, while making mental health support and staff safety training mandatory.The directions were issued by District Collector Sandesh Nayak during a review meeting with coaching institute representatives and officials from key departments to assess compliance with safety regulations, student welfare norms and mental health provisions.Nayak said every institute must adopt a certified “easy exit” policy to ensure students can discontinue courses without unnecessary hurdles or prolonged fee disputes.

Institutes have been asked to submit the policy to the district administration by July 31.The administration also mandated regular training on fire safety, electrical safety, structural safety and student wellbeing. A joint team of officials from the Public Works Department, Jaipur Development Authority, Municipal Corporation and Fire Department will oversee inspections and training programmes. Fire safety audits will also be conducted at coaching institutes operating on Jaipur’s outskirts.

All institutes must submit fire safety compliance reports by July 31 and ensure staff members responsible for emergency response undergo mandatory fire safety training.Training was also made compulsory for “gatekeepers” deployed at coaching institutes. The programme must be completed by July 30, after which institutes will submit affidavits confirming compliance.On student welfare, coaching centres were directed to appoint an adequate number of psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors. Institutes must submit an updated list of these professionals, along with their contact details, to the district administration by July 31.Officials said the measures are aimed at strengthening student safety, improving regulatory compliance and ensuring coaching institutes provide a secure, transparent and supportive learning environment.
