Jammu Frontier sweeps double crown at BSF Inter-Frontier championships

Indore: Jammu Frontier signed off in dominant fashion at the 39th BSF Inter-Frontier Aquatic Championship and 49th Inter-Frontier Cross Country Championship, clinching both overall titles as the four-day event concluded at the Central School of Weapons and Tactics , BSF, on Saturday.Jammu Frontier emerged as the undisputed champions of the aquatic competition, finishing with 97 points, more than double the tally of runners-up Punjab Frontier, which secured 45 points. The frontier also lifted the Cross Country Championship trophy after a series of consistent performances throughout the meet, underlining its supremacy across both endurance and aquatic disciplines.Jammu Frontier further strengthened its dominance by winning the water polo title, again finishing ahead of Punjab Frontier.

In the diving events, Kashmir Frontier claimed the springboard championship, with Jammu Frontier taking the runners-up spot. Jammu Frontier also secured another diving title, while South Bengal Frontier finished second.The championships, held from July 8 to 11, brought together around 300 athletes representing BSF frontier headquarters from across the country. Swimmers competed at the CSWT swimming pool, while the cross country races were conducted on the Super Corridor Road in Indore.

Inspector General of CSWT BSF, Tejinder Pal Singh, presided over the closing ceremony and presented trophies, medals and certificates to the winners. The ceremony featured an impressive march-past by athletes from various frontiers accompanied by the BSF Brass Band.Addressing the gathering, Tejinder Pal Singh praised the athletes for their discipline, competitive spirit and commitment, stressing that sports remain an integral part of the Border Security Force's culture of physical fitness and leadership.Officials said the championships also serve as a talent identification platform, with outstanding performers expected to be selected for BSF teams that will represent the force at national and international competitions.
