Japan PM’s India Visit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi strongly condemned terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.
In the India-Japan Annual Summit Joint Statement on Thursday, July 2, the two leaders condemned the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025 –– which killed 26 civilians –– and the Red Fort attack in Delhi in November last year.
India and Japan demanded the perpetrators, organisers and financiers of the terror attacks be brought to justice without any delay, calling for resolute actions to eliminate terrorist-safe havens, root out terrorist financing channels and halt the cross-border movement of terrorists.
Calls For Peace, Stability In West Asia
Prime Minister Modi and his Japan counterpart Takaichi called for sustainable peace and stability in West Asia and stressed the importance of “securing free and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining stable supply chains for energy and other essential goods, and upholding international law“, according to an official statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
India, Japan Sign MoC
India and Japan signed a key Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), reaffirming commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance global cooperation.
The MoC was signed after delegation-level talks between the two Prime Ministers, with discussions focusing on expanding strategic and global cooperation between New Delhi and Tokyo.
The two countries vowed to bolster cooperation in various sectors, including they Artificial Intelligence (AI), shipbuilding, biogas, semiconductors and critical technologies.
