Premier League champions Arsenal achieved a commanding 3-1 victory over Italian league leaders Inter in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday.

Gabriel Jesus scored twice, while Viktor Gyokeres added another goal for Mikel Arteta’s team, rendering Petar Sucic’s strike merely a consolation.

Jesus opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Sucic’s impressive strike soon equalised for Inter. However, Jesus restored Arsenal’s lead in the 31st minute. Gyokeres, coming off the bench, secured the victory with a late goal.

Jesus set the pace for the visitors with an acrobatic effort, capitalising on a mishit attempt by Jurrien Timber. Arteta’s squad started positively, but Sucic’s powerful strike levelled the score as Cristian Chivu’s team fought back.

This win solidified Arsenal’s position at the top of the UCL table with 21 points from 7 matches, maintaining their perfect record. In contrast, Inter, with just 12 points, are in ninth place.

Jesus scored his second goal with a header, pouncing after Leandro Trossard’s header hit the bar from a Bukayo Saka corner, giving Arsenal a slim lead at half-time.

Arsenal extended their lead when Swedish striker Gyokeres, benefitting from a stroke of luck, scored past the diving Yan Sommer six minutes from time.

Elsewhere, Manchester City went down to Bodo/Glimt in a shocker of a contest as Pep Guardiola and Co. went down to another defeat.

A Kasper Waarts Hogh double and Jens Petter Hauge netted for the Norwegian side against Guardiola’s City in a 3-1 decimation, as Rayan Cherki’s goal went in vain.

While Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a statement win over Monaco as Kylian Mbappe found the net twice, while Franco Masantuanoo, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and an own goal by Thilo Keher gave Los Blancos a 6-1 win over the French outfit.
