Jeweller booked for criminal breach of trust

Dhar: Dhamnod police in Dhar district booked a jeweller for criminal breach of trust.Dhamnod police station sub-inspector Rahul Chohan told TOI that 41-year-old Kamal of Shala Baydipura village complained that the jeweller Pankaj Soni refused to return his 26 gram gold ornaments kept as security for borrowing Rs 97,000 from him in August 2023.Kamal said that he paid interest on the money and when he reached Soni’s shop to clear all dues and take his ornaments back, he refused to return them. Subsequently, he reported the matter to the police.Chohan said the estimated cost of the ornaments is Rs 4 lakh. Search is on for the accused.
