One of the nine complainants in the TCS Nashik sexual assault and forced conversion case has narrated her ordeal, wherein she detailed how the accused body shamed her and also asked about her relationship status. She alleged that Shahrukh Qureshi and Raza Memon asked her to join a gym to be in better physical shape.
Eight arrests have been made so far, including a woman and now-suspended operations manager Ashwini Chainani. The ninth accused, Nida Khan, a telecaller who has also been suspended, is in Mumbai. Initially, it was reported that she was the HR, but it was dismissed later by her father. Also, she is pregnant as revealed by her husband. She has applied for interim anticipatory bail, which the court has denied.
In her statement to the police, the complainant – who has been working as an associate at the TCS Nashik branch since June 2025 - alleged that the accused frequently called her to their desks under work-related pretexts but ended up asking personal and inappropriate questions about her relationships and private life.
She claimed that in January this year, Shahrukh Qureshi called her to his desk and asked her about her family and whether she had a boyfriend or past relationships, leaving her feeling humiliated. Days later, she alleged, both Qureshi and Memon called her again, during which the latter commented on her body.
"You're very thin. You should join a gym to look better," Memon allegedly told the woman.
He also asked her if she had a boyfriend or if she had found anyone yet, besides several other intrusive questions about her personal life.
She also recounted a particular incident on March 19, 2026, which coincided with the Gudi Padwa festival. She went to work dressed for the occasion, and alleged that Raza Memon repeatedly called her over, stared at her inappropriately, and made remarks questioning her appearance and religious observance. The incident caused her severe distress and embarrassment, according to her complaint.
The woman claimed that Shahrukh Qureshi persistently attempted to engage her in personal conversations, monitored her movements, and repeatedly asked her to go out with him despite her refusal. She said the conduct caused her significant mental stress.
She alleged that she initially hesitated to report the incidents internally, claiming that the accused displayed influence within the office. However, she later approached the police along with other affected employees.
In her complaint, the woman claimed that between January 2026 and April 1, 2026, the accused subjected her to repeated harassment, including obscene comments, unwanted personal questions, and behaviour that made her feel uncomfortable and humiliated.
Police said statements from other complainants are being recorded, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. The matter, which has grabbed national headlines, is currently under investigation.
