Jonita Gandhi reveals why playing Geetha Miss in ‘Idhayam Murali’ was a meaningful experience of her

Singer and actress Jonita Gandhi is seen in Aakash Baskaran’s romantic drama ‘Idhayam Murali’ where she played a school teacher. Recently the artist took to her social media handle to introduce her character and thank the director and the team for trusting her with the role.

Jonita Gandhi took to her Instagram handle to share a picture as a school teacher from the film. In a long note in the caption, she said the experience became very special for her as it marked her first acting role in Tamil cinema.“Meet Geetha Miss. The kind of teacher whose kindness stays with you long after you’ve left her classroom. Warm, compassionate, and quietly reassuring… she’s the sort of person who sees the best in people and gently nudges them toward believing in themselves,” she wrote.

The ‘What Jhumka ?’ singer said that she had been waiting to introduce her character until the film was finally released. She also added that acting in ‘Idhayam Murali’ became a meaningful experience for her as she got to share space with talented actors. She even revealed that she dubbed for her own role, which made the journey even more special and challenging.She wrote, “I’ve been waiting to introduce you to her (didn’t want to say much until the film was finally out)! This little feature became such a meaningful experience for me.

It’s my first acting role in Tamil cinema, and getting to share the screen with some incredible actors made it even more of a valuable learning experience. I even dubbed for myself, which made it all the more special (and challenging).”She also thanked the director, the production team and the entire team for giving her the opportunity. She wrote, “A huge thank you to @aakash_baskaran @dawn. picture and the entire team for welcoming me so warmly and trusting me with Geetha Miss.”
