He had the right to leave early thanks to a performance‑based clause. His manager, Albert Valera, had earlier confirmed Jorge Martin was “free of contract for 2026” and mentioned Honda as a possible choice. Aprilia officials like Paolo Bonora and CEO Massimo Rivola expressed relief and happiness after Jorge Martín tested well at Misano and healed from serious injuries, he broke 11 ribs and had a collapsed lung in Qatar in April.
