The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially released the much-anticipated Round 6 seat allotment results for the 2025 counselling cycle on July 16, 2025, marking the final opportunity to secure admission into prestigious institutes like the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

As the culminating stage of the JoSAA process, this round finalises seats for IIT aspirants and individuals under the NIT+ system any seats remaining in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs will now move to CSAB rounds. Allotted candidates must complete online reporting. This includes seat acceptance, payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee, document upload, and query responses by July 20, 2025. Withdrawal is available only for NIT+ candidates until July 21, with query resolution by July 22, while IIT allotments must be accepted without option for withdrawal.

Reporting and seat acceptance

Allotted candidates must report online, pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (₹15,000 for reserved/PwD categories, ₹30,000 for others), upload required documents, and respond to any institute queries by 20 July 2025. Payment-related issues or query responses can be resolved by 21 July 2025.

Document verification remains pending until the fee is fully paid.

What’s next?

With the conclusion of JoSAA Round 6, the seat allocation process for IITs and the NIT+ system has officially ended under JoSAA's purview. No additional allotment rounds will be held by JoSAA for these institutions. However, candidates who were unable to secure a seat or wish to explore other options still have a chance through the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) 2025 special rounds.These rounds are specifically conducted to fill any remaining vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
