JSSC Releases Revised List of 4,333 Successful Candidates for Assistant Teacher Posts in Jharkhand

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) late on Monday issued a revised list of 4,333 successful candidates for the posts of intermediate trained assistant teachers with the provision that it may be revised further if the Jharkhand high court issues final orders in pending cases against the exam.Notably, the JSSC issued cut-off marks for the examination last week.Out of the successful candidates in the revised list, 2,879 are in the non-para-teacher category and 1,454 are in the para-teacher category. As many as 6,667 posts, including 5,531 in the non-para and 4,015 in the para-teacher categories, are still vacant.The JSSC had advertised vacancies for the post of assistant teachers in 2023, after which the examinations were held in June-July 2024.

It started document verification on June 6 this year and called 7,151 candidates for the purpose.The number of vacancies for intermediate trained assistant teachers was 11,000.Earlier on August 13, the JSSC published a list of 4,817 successful candidates, including 3,009 in the non-para-teacher and 1,808 in the para-teacher category.The commission, however, cancelled the results and published a new one, making changes in the reservation category.

The commission further said the candidates, who qualified for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test based on reservation and those who received age relaxation and concessions, have been transferred from the unreserved to the reserved list in the revised list.The JSSC also informed that the revised results may be amended based on the final orders of the high court in the pending cases — namely Bahadur Mahto v/s School Education and Literacy Department, Damrudhar Mahto and others v/s Jharkhand State — adding that the allocation of districts of posting to the candidates may also change.It further stated that the results of several candidates have been kept pending due to the non-submission of necessary documents, unavailability of records, and lack of clarity and that the results may be amended after the submission of documents and subsequent direction of the department. It stated that the category and the allocated districts to the candidates may also change.The JSSC is yet to announce the list of successful candidates for graduate-trained assistant teachers in the languages and social science categories. Earlier, it announced the results of 909 assistant teachers in mathematics and science and 33 post-graduate teachers and laboratory assistants each. The candidates were given the appointment letters on September 2.
