YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy congratulated JSW Steel MD Sajjan Jindal on restarting the steel plant project in Kadapa, calling it a significant milestone for the industrial development of Rayalaseema and a moment of hope for the youth and families aspiring for employment and economic growth.
In a social media post hours after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the steel plant construction works in Kadapa district on Friday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy noted that it was during the YSRCP government that JSW was finalised as the project developer and laid the foundations necessary for the project to take shape.
He claimed it was during that period environmental clearances were facilitated, water allocation secured, land allocated, road connectivity and the required land for supporting infrastructure provided and all key approvals were pursued to enable the project to move forward. With these foundations in place, work on the project progressed at a brisk pace during the YSRCP rule, he claimed.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, unfortunately, over the past two years, the project came to a grinding halt, resulting in further delays. It was therefore encouraging to see work finally restarting. He observed that the people of Kadapa had waited long enough and they deserved to see this important project completed without any further delay.
“As my home district, Kadapa holds a special place in my heart, and I have always believed its youth deserve greater opportunities through industrial growth and sustainable employment,” he stated, while commenting that development was a continuous process that transcends political boundaries and every government had a responsibility to build on the work already done and take projects to completion.
