Despite the drop in collections, ‘Junior’ has received a positive response for its emotional content and production quality. TOI gave the film a 3-star rating and shared in its review, "The film begins by focusing on college life and corporate culture, which may feel familiar and formulaic. With strong emotional arcs and touching dialogues, it delivers a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. With top technicians like Senthil Kumar behind the camera and Devi Sri Prasad composing the music, the film offers a visually rich and musically engaging experience. It’s a high-budget family entertainer that takes you back a decade or two—wrapped in warmth, emotion, action, drama, and memorable songs."
