Justice Yashwant Varma, accused in cash-at-home scam, resigns

Allahabad High Court Judge Yashwant Varma, who is facing a parliamentary inquiry for his removal, has tendered his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu on Friday (April 10, 2026).

On July 3, 2025, the government has began the process of collecting signatures for a motion to remove Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma soon, as most of the prominent political parties have accepted, in principle, to support the motion.
