Serie A giants Juventus were ousted from the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the USA following their 0-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida on Wednesday, as the Spanish giants edged out the Turin-based side.

Gonzalo Garcia netted the only goal of the game in the 54th minute of the game to help the Spanish giants move into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Juve boss Igor Tudor alluded to the challenging conditions as one of the factors that played a huge role in the result.

“We played under really difficult conditions," Tudor said, reflecting on the narrow defeat that knocked the Italian giants out of the CWC 2025.

“The players were really fatigued. It’s a lot of factors that weighed in," he added.

Tudor explained how the long season had sapped the energy of the players and the heat in North America, which turned out to be around 30 degree Celsius on the day with 70 percent humidity, piled on further.

“It’s the end of the season. They had a lot of stress on them, that takes away energy as well and then the heat is another thing that makes things more difficult," the 47-year-old Croatian said.

Real Madrid is scheduled to face German giants Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals of the tournament at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 6th, vying for a spot in the semifinals of the revamped competition. Borussia Dortmund secured their place in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Mexican side Monterrey, thanks to Serhou Guirassy’s two goals. Monterrey’s German Berterame scored in the second half, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
