The Kadapa city has remained underdeveloped over the last 20 years, government whip and Kadapa MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy said on Sunday (April 26, 2026), blaming earlier civic administrations for the state of the city.

Speaking after flagging off a 5-km awareness rally on Census enumeration in Kadapa, she said the civic body had been in the wrong hands, in an indirect reference to the period when parties other than the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ran it.
