Kalaburagi-based artist Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel has been selected for the Excellence Award by the Hyderabad Art Society to be presented during its 85th annual All India Art Exhibition 2026.
The award carries a cash prize of ₹25,000 along with a citation.
Mr. Patel’s award-winning mixed-media work on canvas, titled, After Petrol Price, portrays the hardships faced by people due to the continuous rise in fuel prices.
Through the painting, he highlights traditional modes of transport, symbolised by a bullock cart, as sustainable and enduring alternatives.
Secretary of the Hyderabad Art Society Jegati Venkateshwaralu said that the award ceremony will be held on January 23 at the Exhibition Grounds, Hyderabad.
Mr. Patel has participated in several international group exhibitions. He has also showcased his solo digital art across various European countries.
A recipient of the National Award for Photography and Digital Painting recognised by the Ministry of Culture, Mr. Patel is known for his work in digital painting and mixed media. His artworks adorn public and private spaces across the country.
