Kalaburagi: Student drowns while swimming in river

In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old PU student drowned while swimming in a river at Handanur village of Jewargi taluk in Kalaburagi on Thursday (April 2).

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Lalsaab Sardar Patel, had gone to the Bhima river along with his friends for a swim on Thursday afternoon. He reportedly got caught in the strong current and drowned.

A case has been registered at the Jewargi Police Station, and an investigation is under way.
