Kalaburagi district has emerged as the top performer in the State in the use of e-Office system for speedy disposal of files in government offices, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, IT-BT and district in-charge Priyank Kharge has said.

In a media note released here on Saturday, the Minister said that the Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat, under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has secured the first position in the State in the effective use of technology aimed at ensuring time-bound disposal of files and improving administrative efficiency.

In addition, 13,664 applications received from the public have been processed through the e-receipt system.

“The objective of implementing the e-Office system is to make government offices more citizen-friendly and to prevent people from having to make repeated visits to government offices. Assigning accountability to officers and staff for time-bound disposal of files through e-Office has yielded results. The district is now in the forefront of administrative reforms,” Mr. Kharge said.

Four in top 10

Sharing State-level figures, the Minister said that Kalaburagi has topped the list of Zilla Panchayats in e-file creation during 2025, followed by Chitradurga (2,523 e-files) and Bengaluru Urban (2,476).

Bidar stands fifth with 2,339 e-files, Yadgir eighth with 1,955 and Koppal ninth with 1,924 e-files.

“The presence of four Kalyana Karnataka districts in the top 10 reflects the acceleration of administrative efficiency in the rural parts of the region,” Mr. Kharge said and added that Kalaburagi has become a model district for smooth governance.

The district has also recorded notable achievements at the taluk panchayat level. While Mulbagal Taluk Panchayat in Kolar district topped the State by creating 1,508 e-files and disposing of 3,089 files, Aland Taluk Panchayat in Kalaburagi district has secured the second place by creating 1,127 e-files, disposing of 3,560 files and processing 2,022 e-receipts.

Meanwhile, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Bhanwar Singh Meena expressed satisfaction over the achievement and said that public applications are being given top priority through the e-Office system.

He said that files are being processed using digital signatures instead of physical signatures, ensuring faster disposal and transparency.

He lauded the efforts of officers and staff and directed lower-level personnel to continue responding promptly to public grievances through efficient file disposal.
