A man has been arrested near Bengaluru for allegedly beheading his wife and surrendering at the Suryanagar Police Station with her severed head. The accused, 28-year-old Shankar, a resident of Hennagara, reportedly committed the act after finding his wife in an intimate situation with another man at their rented house.

According to police sources, the couple had been in a love marriage and had recently shifted to the area. On the night of June 3, Shankar had gone out to work and returned home late, when he allegedly discovered his wife with another man. He assaulted both individuals, and later allegedly beheaded his wife, per sources.

The couple had reportedly been facing regular marital issues. Sources said the woman had expressed a desire to separate but continued to visit the house, leading to repeated confrontations. On Thursday night, another altercation took place at the residence, which escalated to the killing.

Following the incident, Shankar rode his bike to the police station with the severed head and surrendered. The Suryanagar police have registered a case and are investigating the murder.
