The torrential rainfall that lashed Yadgir district on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) disrupted normal life. Considering the safety of the children, the district administration declared a two-day holiday on August 19 and 20 for government and private schools, colleges and anganwadi centres, following the requisition submitted by the education department.

Streams of both the Krishna and Bhima rivers, flowing with a high quantum of water, impacted road connectivity in many parts of the district. The bridges constructed near Pogalapur, Chamanal and Kotagera villages were inundated after stream water overflowed onto them.

The Sanna Kere water gushed into a portion of Lumbini Park, the only public usage garden in Yadgir city, turned it into a pond.
