On the occasion of his birthday, actor Suriya gave fans a compelling glimpse into his upcoming film 'Karuppu', helmed by RJ Balaji.In the teaser, Suriya goes back to his birth name, Saravanan, and takes on the role of a man leading a double life—an advocate by day and a mysterious saviour by night.
Dressed in a lawyer’s coat, Suriya is seen stepping into the courtroom for the second time after Jai Bhim.
But it’s his transformation into a black-shirted, black-dhoti-clad figure in a rural setup that draws a direct reference to the guardian deity Karuppu Samy, lending a strong cultural flavour to the character.From 'Ghajini' to Karuppu Samy A clever nod to the iconic watermelon scene from Ghajini finds its way in.
With vibrant visuals and a blend of rural and urban backdrops. RJ Balaji, who has earlier directed 'LKG' and 'Mookuthi Amman', brings his signature touch once again. Joining Suriya in 'Karuppu' is Trisha, who plays the female lead. The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Malayalam veteran Indrans, Lubber Pandhu fame Swasika, Sshivada, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi. The technical team boasts composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer GK Vishnu, editor Kalaivanan, art director Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreographer Vikram Mor.Meanwhile, Suriya is also busy with his 46th film directed by Venky Atluri, co-starring Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon, and Radikaa Sarathkumar.
