‘Kattalan’ makers REVEAL real elephants were used in the film, NO CGI

Antony Varghese-starrer ‘Kattalan’ will hit the big screens in May. On Friday, January 16, the makers launched the teaser, and it managed to grab eyeballs. The makers of the film have revealed that they used real elephants in the film instead of CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery).

In a note shared on Instagram on Sunday, January 18, the makers revealed that they used real elephants in the film. “Authenticity has always been at the core of our storytelling. In KATTALAN, we consciously chose to work with real elephants over CGI, believing that genuine visuals and organic performances create a deeper cinematic impact,” they said. “Every visual choice reflects our commitment to presenting cinema honestly and responsibly, with the highest standards of care and supervision throughout the process,” they added.

Directed by debutant Paul George, ‘Kattalan’ is set against the backdrop of ivory smuggling. The film stars Antony Varghese, best known for his roles in ‘Angamaly Diaries’ and ‘Jallikattu’.
