Kavitha criticized both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that they have failed in their roles as opposition parties in Telangana and have not effectively represented the grievances of the people.
In a significant political development, Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday announced that she would launch a new political party in Telangana within the next two months. The party, she said, will be established under the aegis of Telangana Jagruthi and will champion the slogan “Telangana First.”
Addressing the media at Alipiri following her visit to the holy hill shrine in Tirupati, Kavitha outlined the vision of her proposed political outfit. She said the party would serve people irrespective of caste, religion or community, with a focus on addressing public grievances at the micro level.
“The aim is to take governance closer to the people and resolve issues at the grassroots,” she said, adding that the party would prioritize local concerns often overlooked in broader political debates.
Kavitha criticised both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that they have failed in their roles as opposition parties in Telangana and have not effectively represented the grievances of the people.
She also spoke about the personal challenges she and her family have faced over the past four years in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy cases. Kavitha said they had endured intense mental agony over a mistake she “did not commit.” Expressing gratitude to the judiciary, she said that by “God’s grace,” the courts had dismissed the cases against her.
She said her visit to Tirumala was to fulfil a personal vow to trek the Alipiri footpath after being cleared of the allegations. Kavitha clarified that she harbours no ill will toward the people of Andhra Pradesh and that her opposition has always been directed at political dominance.
Criticising the HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency) initiative, she alleged that it has caused distress among the poor while favouring the wealthy and influential. She reiterated her commitment to fighting for the underprivileged.
