Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: EC records Sobha’s statement in cash-for-votes case

The Election Commission has recorded the statement of Palakkad’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Sobha Surendran in connection with the cash-for-votes allegations against her. The commission has also recorded the statement of the complainant, C.V. Balan of the Congress.

Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Anvar Sadath P., who is the returning officer of the Palakkad Assembly constituency, recorded their statements. Ms. Surendran appeared before the RDO along with a Supreme Court lawyer. She has reportedly denied the allegations of distributing cash for votes.
