Kerala Assembly polls 2026: Former KPCC general secretary M.J. Job joins BJP

Former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary M.J. Job, who had quit the Congress over its decision to support former Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] leader G. Sudhakaran in the Ambalapuzha constituency, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar handed over the membership to Mr. Job and a few other leaders who joined the party at a function held at its headquarters.

B. Jayakumar, former State secretary of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former director of Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities, also joined the BJP. Other leaders to join include Athira Anilkumar, who contested as the UDF candidate from Chennithala in the local body elections recently, Congress Seva Dal Palakkad district vice-president Pranesh Rajendran and 40 others.
