The Kerala government has constituted a transport coordination committee to streamline the various services provided by different agencies and institutions under the Transport department.
According to Transport Minister C.P. John, the committee has been formed to improve coordination among the various institutions under the department, ensure timely implementation of policy decisions, and provide better transport services to the public.
The Minister said that the committee will help strengthen communication and coordination among various agencies and institutions in the transport sector, enabling them to deliver high-quality and timely services to the public.
The committee, chaired by the Transport Minister and convened by the department Secretary, will include the Transport Commissioner, Road Safety Commissioner, Director of the Water Transport department, KSRTC Chairman and Managing Director, KTDFC Managing Director, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Metropolitan Transport Authority, among others, as members.
It has also been decided that the agenda for each meeting will be prepared in advance and that the Transport Coordination Committee will meet at least once every month, said a statement issued by the Minister.
