During the key meeting at 10 Janpath, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reportedly enquired about the circumstances that led to the show of strength and demonstrations in Keralam over a delay in the announcement of the Chief Ministerial face.

He also asked who was behind the protests. While several Congress leaders said public sentiment should also be taken into consideration.

Congress leader Nana Patole criticised the BJP after it targeted his party over the delay in Keralam’s CM announcement.

“Maharashtra faced a similar situation. How many days did it take for them to announce the CM and DCM? One month. Now things are being questioned in just four days. They are becoming restless. Whatever will happen will happen soon, and it will happen for good”, he told CNN-News18. 

With delay in the announcement over CM’s pick in Keralam, chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), Sonia Gandhi, is likely to intervene in the discussion, sources told CNN-News18. 

Congress leader Priyank Kharge dismissed the criticism by the BJP over a delay in the announcement of Keralam’s CM pick.

“Why is BJP so interested in it? They took more than a month to make a CM in Karnataka. It is our internal matter”, he said, as quoted by ANI. 

Congress top leadership, including Rahul Gandhi and the party’s president Mallikarjun Kharge, will take the final decision on the Chief Ministerial face in Keralam, according to a report by PTI. 

The party high command will seek the views of former KPCC presidents and working presidents before calling the shots.

Discussions on Keralam’s CM pick will take place at 10 Janpath around 11 A.M. Around 8 former KPCC presidents and working presidents have arrived in Delhi, sources told CNN-News18. 

Amidst delay on the decision on CM’s post in Keralam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress and claimed that the party remained embroiled in internal tussle instead of governing the state.

The Congress top leadership has summoned several senior Keralam leaders to Delhi to seek their opinion on government formation and deciding on the Chief Ministerial pick.

Among the leaders who have been called to Delhi are: Senior Congress leader and MLA-elect K Muraleedharan, KPCC vice presidents AP Anil Kumar, Shafi Parambil and PC Vishnunadh, India Today reported.

VD Satheesan, a top contender in the race for Keralam Chief Ministerial post, has hardened his stance and made it clear that he is not ready to accept any other post than the top one, according to a report by NDTV, citing sources close to him.

IUML, a key ally of the Congress, expressed strong displeasure over the delay in announcing Keralam’s next Chief Minister.

“The decision has already been delayed. If it is prolonged further, there will be repercussions. We hope the AICC leadership realises this,” IUML Malappuram district general secretary P Abdul Hameed said.

The top contenders in the race for the Chief Ministerial post in Keralam are: K C Venugopal, V D Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala.
