Kevin Spacey receives the Lifetime Achievement Award: Dedicated honor to Val Kilmer - 'I will never forget him'

‘Baby Driver’ actor Kevin Spacey recently received one of the highest honors in the film industry. The star received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Septimius Awards, along with Irv Gotti, Shohreh Aghdashloo, makeup artist Jenny Shircore, and special effects supervisor Neil Corbould.

He dedicated his award to someone another famous personality, who holds a special place in his heart. Read on to know.

Kevin Spacey dedicates award to Val Kilmer, recalls when the actor was there for him

A video of his acceptance speech from the event was shared online, where the actor specifically dedicated the award to Val Kilmer, recalling saying that Kilmer was there for him at a time when everyone was walking away from him. He also shared how grateful he is for his manager and best friend for his support.

He shared, “I am missing Val for all that he taught me, for the times that we shared, but mostly for what he learned as a man, as a father, and as a friend. I recall with enormous love in my heart that in 2017, when several people were walking away from me, Val was busy coming toward me, sending love and his support, and I will never forget him for that”. He also mentioned how the two stars began their career together 44 years ago, and how grateful he is for the star.

He also talked about how movies often act as a representation of getting second chances in life, and that he truly appreciates this. He ended his speech by saying, “I can tell you how precious that means to me, and I hope it means for everyone. Tonight, I want to thank you for this honor. I want to dedicate it to my friend Val Kilmer, because I have been and always will be team Kilmer”.
