'Kingdom' release: Vijay Deverakonda's spy thriller to release in USA a day before India premiere

In a rare departure from the usual box office release slate, the Vijay Deverakonda starrer 'Kingdom' will be released in the USA before its release in Indian cinemas.Directed by 'Jersey' fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film will hit US theatres today, July 30, a day ahead of its Indian release on July 31.

With this approach, American fans will get a head start, experiencing the spy-action thriller several hours before audiences back home.

US to get early access to 'Kingdom'

According to the official US distributor of 'Kingdom', there have been impressive advance bookings, with over 15,000 premiere tickets sold. The distributor took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the US show timings. The film's premiere will begin at 1:30 PM EST, 12:30 PM CST, and 10:30 AM PST across major time zones in the United States on July 30.In India, the earliest shows will begin at 7 AM IST in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on July 31.The action drama was described by Vijay as a film driven by Gowtam Tinnanuri's signature storytelling, intense emotional arcs and high action movie.

Debut collaboration with Anirudh

The movie stars Vijay Deverakonda as Constable Surya "Suri" with Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev in important roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the movie's songs and score, which will be the first time the actor has collaborated with the composer.

Interestingly, the movie will be the first installment in a planned two-part series.

Multi-language release

Originally scheduled earlier in 2025, 'Kingdom' has encountered delays in production, causing several postponements to its release date. It will be released in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. After its theatrical run, the film has already booked its OTT release.
