An agreement marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration to strengthen precision manufacturing education between institutions was formally exchanged during the inauguration of PE-CoE, a pioneering ‘Factory on Campus’ initiative at KLS GIT, Belagavi, on Saturday
Belagavi: KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT), Belagavi, has inaugurated its Centre of Excellence in Precision Engineering (PE-CoE) under a ‘Factory on Campus’ initiative aimed at strengthening industry-oriented technical education and advanced manufacturing skills.
The centre was established with financial support from Karnataka Bank Ltd under its CSR programme. It seeks to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice by providing students with hands-on manufacturing experience within the campus. The facility is designed to support the growing precision manufacturing sector, particularly aerospace and high-precision engineering applications. Karnataka Bank MD and CEO Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat said industry-backed academic initiatives are essential for developing skilled professionals for India’s manufacturing growth. During the event, KLS GIT and Dassault Systèmes Foundation India exchanged an agreement to strengthen precision manufacturing education and digital engineering capabilities. KLS GIT principal V A Athavale, Aequs MD and CEO Rajeev Kaul, governing council chairperson Rajendra K Belgaumkar and KLS president Pradeep Sawkar highlighted the need for industry collaboration and practical learning to create future-ready engineers. Faculty members, industry leaders and students attended the programme.
