Kolkata workshop lets participants turn beads into art

Participants explored the art of beadwork at Bedazzle the Canvas, a hands-on creative workshop recently hosted at The Bhawanipur House. During the two-hour session, attendees carefully placed colourful beads on curated canvas designs, transforming them into vibrant artworks while enjoying a slow, meditative creative process.

Held within the heritage setting of The Bhawanipur House, the workshop brought together art enthusiasts and first-timers alike, offering a space to unwind, create and connect. Guests also enjoyed signature beverages such as Matcha and Espresso Lemonade, along with seasonal favourites like Mango Cheesecake and popular in-house dishes including the Pita Pocket.

"We often feel that Kolkata doesn't have enough interactive experiences where people can simply step out, unwind, and do something different. With Bedazzle the Canvas, we wanted to create an evening that felt fun, relaxed, and creatively fulfilling. Seeing people connect, laugh, and genuinely enjoy the process made it incredibly rewarding for us," said Yashasavi Sureka, Curator of the workshop. The workshop concluded with participants proudly taking home their bead-adorned canvas creations.
