Kovilpatti DMK MLA, TVK district secretary cross sword

Madurai: Kovilpatti DMK MLA K Karunanithi warned to initiate legal action against TVK’s Tuticorin district secretary S Balasubramanian for allegedly making an intimidating statement that TVK would make him resign.On Saturday, a video clip surfaced on social media in which Balasubramanian, who contested from Kovilpatti assembly constituency, alleged that, “Karunanithi became the MLA only after spending ₹30 crore during the election. He will not be able to earn ₹300. Soon, we will make him (Karunanithi) resign.”While addressing the media in Kovilpatti on Saturday, Karunanithi said former minister and Tiruchendur DMK MLA Anitha Radhakrishnan when he was arrested on Friday stated that he was threatened. He said the statement made by Balasubramanian could also be considered similarly. “I will not be intimidated since I am a DMK man,” he said. Balasubramanian should tender an apology for making such a statement, failing which legal action would be initiated against him, he added.
