The Krishna District Court on Monday (March 23, 2026) received what was later found to be a hoax bomb threat. The threat was reportedly e-mailed to the judge. Police rushed to the district court’s complex and conducted a thorough search of the premises after evacuating it for safety purposes.
According to police sources, miscreants allegedly threatened that “a bomb was planted in court premises, and it would go off at any time”. Multiple teams, including bomb disposal units and sniffer dogs, were deployed to conduct searches in the court hall, offices, parking, and other places.
“Unidentified persons have sent a email to the judge and threatened to create violence. We checked the court’s complex and confirmed that the email was a hoax,” said Krishna district Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu.
As a precautionary measure, the judiciary officials stopped the functioning of the court immediately. The Chilakalapudi police registered a case and took up investigation.
