The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor Vijay, on Saturday (February 28, 2026) strongly condemned the alleged sexual assault and murder of a two-year-old girl in Krishnagiri district and demanded swift action against the accused.

In a statement, the party expressed shock and anguish over the incident and alleged that the accused had been serving as a union-level organiser in the youth wing of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The party questioned whether those with political backing believed they could act with impunity.

The statement criticised the deterioration of law and order in the State, and stated that individuals associated with the ruling party were acting without fear of legal consequences.

Calling the crime a “heinous and unforgivable act”, the TVK urged the government to ensure that the case is investigated without political interference. The party demanded that the matter be taken up by a fast-track court and that the accused be awarded the maximum punishment under the law if found guilty.
