The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will close the registration window for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025, today, September 18, 2025. Candidates seeking eligibility for the Assistant Professor posts are advised to complete the registration process on the official KEA portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
The last date to pay the application fee is September 19, 2025.The KSET 2025 hall ticket will be released on October 24, 2025, while the examination is scheduled for November 2, 2025. The KSET is a critical gateway for candidates aiming to secure teaching positions in universities and colleges across Karnataka.
KSET application fees 2025
As per the official notification, the KSET 2025 application fee is set at Rs. 1,000 for candidates in the General category, Categories II(A), II(B), III(A), III(B), and applicants from other states.
Candidates belonging to Category I, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender categories are required to pay Rs. 700. Applications are accepted exclusively online, with no offline submissions permitted.
KSET 2025: Eligibility criteria
Candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university. A relaxation of 5% (to 50%) applies for SC, ST, OBC (Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB), PwD, and transgender candidates.
Those currently pursuing a Master’s degree or awaiting final results may apply provisionally, provided they submit proof of meeting the required marks within two years of the KSET result to receive the eligibility certificate. Additionally, PhD holders whose Master’s examination was completed by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% marks relaxation.Candidates must apply for KSET in the subject of their postgraduate study.
If the subject is not available under KSET, candidates are advised to consider UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET. Those who were declared eligible in a previous KSET exam cannot reappear for the same subject; doing so will result in cancellation of their candidature and withdrawal of prior eligibility.
