In a major boost to agricultural sector, innovative products developed by Kudumbashree entrepreneurs using advanced K-Inam technology were officially launched at a function held at the Central Auditorium of Kerala Agricultural University, Mannuthy on Tuesday.
Launching the products, Revenue Minister K. Rajan said that Kudumbashree’s K-Inam products would significantly contribute to strengthening food security.
District panchayat vice-president T.K. Sudheesh presided over the function. Kerala Agricultural University Registrar A. Zakir Hussain attended as the chief guest. Kudumbashree Farm Livelihood Programme Officer S. Shanavas presented an overview of the project.
Under the Kudumbashree Technology Advancement Programme (K-TAP), innovative technologies sourced from various research institutions are being adopted to produce and market food products under the unified K-Inam brand, targeting even international markets. Of the 185 products identified through the programme, production of 30 products has been completed in the first phase.
Entrepreneurs from Thrissur district have developed six innovative products under the brand: dried banana, arrowroot powder, dried bitter gourd, moringa powder, moringa pasta and drumstick powder. These products were officially launched on Tuesday. Mr. Rajan also honoured the enterprise groups that produced the items.
The award-winning units include Jwala Pavel Consortium of Nadathara CDS, Sai Producer Group of Muriyad CDS, Chelakkara Kerala Farmers Federation Group, and Nakshatra Producer Group of Pazhayannur CDS.
