In the second phase of mobile phone recovery mela, the Kurnool district police on Thursday (June 12, 2025) handed over 604 lost and stolen phones costing around ₹1.30 crore to owners. The mobile phones were recovered from various districts of Andhra Pradesh and also from Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin) Hussain Peera said those who lost their mobile phones can log in to the district police website http://kurnoolpolice.in/mobiletheft and lodge a complaint by giving the IMEI number. “The service is free of charge,” he said.
On the occasion, the Additional SP handed over an appreciation certificate to Kurnool sub-division head constable Sekhar Babu who had recovered 54 mobile phones in a single day.
